a long overdue update

My Aunt Lisa came to visit this past weekend. She sat me down and chatted with me about not updating my blog. I know. I’ve been a lazy puppy boy. So I’m finally updating.

Halloween was good. We didn’t have a lot of trick or treaters, though. Mumma shared my puppy crack with a few puppies that were trick or treating with their humans. She didn’t ask me first, though.

I tried a couple of different costumes before settling on one of my Halloween themed bandanas. Mumma took photos of me, of course.

First I was going to be a lobster.

Then I tried to be a spider:

Big Guy goes on the road for work a lot. I miss him when he is gone. He says he misses me too. Sometimes Mumma lets me talk to him on the phone. I give it kisses, but it’s not the same as giving my Big Guy kisses.

A while back, Mumma was playing a song on her computer while I was on her lap trying to sleep. Since I couldn’t sleep, I decided to sing along. Mumma of course took a video of it. Why she does stuff like that, I’ll never figure out. But, since she did, I’ll share it with you.

Tonight, Mumma and I went for chickie nuggies. The last one that Mumma gave me, I decided to "bury" it on the couch. After I put it on the couch, I covered it with a blanket. Mumma wasn't happy of course, and she "dug" it up and gave it to me, telling me to eat it or else she was going to throw it away. I ate it then. Couldn't let a good chicken nuggie go to waste.

I <3 chickie nuggies.

Mumma said I need to share this story with you:

She tossed to me a piece of a chicken tender, but it went under the entertainment stand. I was trying to get under the stand! I even moved all the board games stacked up beside it. There were about 10 games.

Then, I walked over to Big Guy to tell him, "Big Guy, my food is stuck under the stand! Help!"

So, Big Guy got on the floor, using Mumma's cell phone as the light to look under the stand, and I was next to him, looking under too.

Mumma said it was too adorable.

February and March 2008

How about some photos, to make up for me not posting for nearly two months?

Mumma took this photo in February for a photo challenge. The them was body parts.

In mid-March, we got another snowstorm. Not only did we get several inches of snow, but also ice, and then a layer of snow to finish it off. I could walk on the snow without falling through! Mumma, of course, had to take lots of photos. Here are just a few:

A couple weeks ago, Mumma, Big Guy and I went to Michigan to see the family for the Bunny Holiday. We took a long route...first going to Columbus (a 3 hour drive) and then to Detroit (another 3 hour drive). We had a 3 hour layover in Columbus, while Mumma had an interview. Big Guy and I drove around and then we found a park. As Big Guy told Mumma, I "went for a W A L K in the P A R K and went P O O P on the trail." That was a LONG trip. Overall, I was in the car for about 11 hours.

When we came home from Michigan, the car was packed to the max. I had to lay on Mumma's lap the whole ride home. We stopped in Toledo and Big Guy filled up the gas tank and cleaned the windows. Of course, I love to try and catch the window wipers when they are going, so you can just imagine what I do when someone is cleaning the windows at the gas station. I go a little crazy.

Mumma took some pics afterwards. I was sitting in the back window and watching Big Guy, who had gone inside the store.

January 2008

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turned 5 this year. We had a big party for my birthday. Mumma and Big Guy asked their nieces and nephews to stay the night. We all stayed up late and around midnight everybody made lots of noise. I thought that was an odd thing to do, but oh well. I was tuckered out shortly after that.

I was standing on the back of the couch, like I do often, and Ryan - he's 3 - saw me. He couldn't believe that I got up there by myself! He asked Big Guy and Nick (he's 12) if they put me up there. Everyone told Ryan that I did it myself....so Ryan asked me. Yup. I did!

In January, Mumma went on another long trip without me. I was not pleased. I missed her a lot. Big Guy said something about Mumma to me, and I went a little crazy. Before she left, Big Guy took me to the spa and I got a bath and my nails trimmed. He also bought me a name tag. It says, "Spike Crazy Pup" on it. Ha! Like I'm crazy....well, maybe just a little. Look at my family. You can understand why!

One morning while Mumma was away, Big Guy and I were laying in bed, sleeping in late. I was waiting patiently for Big Guy to wake up. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was me laying there, facing him. I was so excited that he was awake, I gave him lots and lots of puppy kisses. :)

Another night, when it was really cold, I got out of bed when the heat kicked on, and went to my favorite place in the whole house...the carpet in front of the bedroom heater. Big Guy turned on the light, got up and picked me up. He put me back on the bed and told me to keep his feet warm and quit stealing the heat. Meanie.

When Mumma finally came home, I was SO VERY EXCITED to see her. I gave her lots and lots of puppy kisses and didn't let her out of my sight whenever she was in the house. Even though she didn't bring me back any presents...

I was a bit mad at her leaving me again, though, so about a week or so later, when Mumma and Big Guy weren't home, I tore the Christmas tree box a bit. There's no longer a handle on the box. That'll teach them...right?

Mumma has some photos to share...of course. Doesn't she always?

hmmm...what's this thing all about?

Photobucket

it's not moving.

Photobucket

Is there something up there I need to push?
Photobucket

How do I turn this thing on??
Photobucket

Maybe if i yell at it?

This is my "Mumma. It's late and I'm sleepy. Put down the camera and let's go night-night" look:

More Photos!!

We had some snow in December. Mumma took photos of me outside - of course:

I'm ready to go in now.

Mumma would laugh at me. I don't really like walking in the snow much. So I would stand half in, half out of my dog house to piddle in the snow in front of it. For some reason she thought that was funny. I'd like to see you two-leggers go potty outside in the snow. Tell me how much you like that!

Christmas update

Yikes! I'm a few months behind.

I must have been a very good Puppy Boy last year. I got so many presents from Santa Paws! I got:

  • A Fido Football
  • A Rope
  • A big bag of Chicken Jerky
  • Some Duck Jerky
  • A chew bone
  • Puppy Pads

Some of my Michigan family came to see me after Christmas. They brought presents, too. I guess Santa Paws didn't remember that I live in Ohio full time now. Anyhow, I also got:

  • 2 new costumes - a lobster and a spider
  • a winter shirt
  • a treat jar

I was so excited to open all of my presents. Mumma says she has photos and video. I need to find them so I can share.

Ah...here's the photos. I was so excited to open this gift!

I love my new football.

A few days before Christmas, Mumma and Big Guy were trying to take nice holiday photos. I wasn't too happy to be left out of the action, so I kept crashing the photos.

Are you done yet?
Photobucket

"Maybe I don't wanna sit nice, Mumma!"
Photobucket

"Your arm tastes good, Mumma."
Photobucket

I'm want to sit on Big Guy's lap!

Finally, I laid down nicely beside Big Guy.
